Somewhere around the age of 6 years old, he attended an "all night singing" where The Happy Goodman's, The Statesmen Quartet and others were performing. That's all it took for him to fall in love with Southern Gospel Music. Over the years he has sung with several groups and has been on stage with groups such as The Kingsmen, Brian Free & Assurance and others.

Wayne says," Not only do I get a personal enjoyment out of singing, it's the best way I know, to get the message of Jesus to those who need it most. If He can do for me what He's done, he can do it for anyone. All you have to do is ask and seek His will.

Born in Savannah,Ga., Wayne was raised and lives in Lexington,S.C.

He states, " I hope for anyone that hears The Crusaders sing, they will not only enjoy the music, songs, and the service, but will pay close attention to the message in the songs. And that is, that Jesus loves you. No matter what you've done, or where you've been, God's love and grace is greater than sin.

The first "singing" I can remember that I went to was an old time singing convention when I was about 9 years old.  My dad took me and I was added to the program.  He also took me to my first all night singing at about the same age.  I loved that concert and have loved southern gospel music ever since.

I was asked to join my first quartet when I was about 21 years of age.  It was a local group, located in central Florida, called "The Pathfinders".  I sang with them for about 2 years before I was called into the United States Marine Corp.  After my service in the Corp., I returned to The Pathfinders.  In less than a year, God made it possible for us to travel full time singing.  We changed some personnel and our name.  We were then known as "The Tribunes" from Plant City, Florida.

After The Tribunes, I sang on my own, mainly in churches, until most recently, when God opened the door for me to once again sing with a group, "The Crusaders".  I am so thankful for this opportunity to witness for my Lord and Savior again through the medium of Gospel Music.

My hobbies are "huntin, fishin, and golfin".  I also enjoy team sports on the high school and college levels.

My lovely and very supportive wife, Lydia, has helped me to raise 3 beautiful daughters and they have blessed us with 4 beautiful grandchildren.

I pray that our singing will be a blessing to all who hear us, and that peoples' lives will be changed for the good, and that they will come to know the Lord through our singing ministry.
